Rick and Alfredo

Our Story

Alfredo and Rick have been a team for over 15 years as students through Pastoral school and as leaders of Champion Christian Junior and Senior High School in Chico.
Pastor Rick went home to be with the Lord May 6th, 2018, This is the story of how the Lord brought these two together to serve as brothers in ministry.

Rick served as Principal at a local Christian school and Alfredo served as Board Chairman as well as Chapel Pastor and Worship leader for the students. After Alfredo delivered a strong message to the students, Rick pulled Alfredo aside and told him, “I know you can sing and lead worship, but you are a Pastor! These kids listen to you.” This was a confirmation of the calling Alfredo had been hearing for over a year!

During their service together in a Ministerial program, Alfredo and Rick both heard the call from the Lord to start Rock of Life Fellowship as teammates along with Rick's wife Susie and Alfredo's wife Debbie. They had God given gifts and skills that complemented each other and made a powerful ministry team. The message was to know Jesus and make Him known and to let as many people as possible know that the love of God and a relationship with Jesus the Savior is the answer for everyone, no matter their situation in life!
This world has nothing to offer us and we need to separate from it as it will destroy us.
There is only hope, love and joy waiting for us in a relationship with Jesus Christ who loves each of us so very much. Father God desires that no one would perish but turn away from this world and spend eternity with Him in heaven..

Note: After Pastor Rick's passing, Susie moved to the Sacramento area to be close to her daughter and grandchildren. Rick and Susie will be always loved and appreciated for their service to the Lord and their part in the founding of Rock of Life Fellowship!

Foundation Scriptures

Matthew 16:18 — Acknowledgement of who Jesus is
Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” 16. Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” 17. Jesus replied, “You are blessed, Simon son of John because my Father in heaven has revealed this to you. You did not learn this from any human being. 18. Now I say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.

Luke 6:47-48 / Matthew 7:24-25 — Building on a solid foundation
I will show you what it’s like when someone (wise) comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. 48. It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built.

Psalms 18:2 — Who the Lord is to me and can be for you!
The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.

Mission, Vision and Core Values

We acknowledge that a large growing part of today’s culture sees no purpose for God. Generations continue to grow in their view that Jesus is not relevant to their lives. God and His Word are continually being deleted from most aspects of our nation and local communities. As a result, there are many people that are lost, wandering looking for answers in false beliefs and faiths, as if the things of this world can offer true joy and answers for eternity.

Why is there a growing view that there is no need for the Word of God and the message of salvation?

The name of “Jesus” and who the Savior is has been misrepresented by people who do not know Him or have a relationship with God the Father. The truth is they are unaware of who the true Jesus is according to the Word of God.

Jesus is not about hate or rules or condemning people. God is love and He is about grace, mercy and hope beyond what this life has to offer.
We need to tell others that God's will is that no one would perish but all come to repentance. We need to tell others why the need for a Savior!

Jesus loved you so much He died for you and was resurrected so that we can accept the offer of an everlasting life with God the Father. The Holy Spirit can give us a guidance that can help through life's successes and most difficult times.

Get to know Jesus and how much He loves you. God will forgive the wrong things you have done in life if you ask for forgiveness, turn from this world and believe Jesus is the Savior who makes all things new!
